We are a cosy Spanish bar nestled on the thriving North street in Southville, Bristol. Established around the year 2007, making us now the oldest Spanish bar in Bristol. Specialising in the traditional food and drinks of Spain accompanied by some of the finest live music from the UK and beyond. We also offer Spanish classes, accomodation and private hire of our intimate venue.
We’re reservation free on all evenings, keeping it friendly and accessible to everyone at all times of the day.

A tortilla de patata, olives, chorizo, salchichon, manchego with quince, boquerones, grilled artichokes, caramelised peppers. croquestas and a tarta de santiago for afters.

As always thing's change and evolve at the Spanish bar, we're adding a new noche of Comedy, a Sunday live gig session, even more face to face Spanish classes and a dedicated night on a Tuesday for all Spanish learners.
The poetry night's going from strength to strength and Colin Smith our piano virtuosos plays here every month, while Pete Judge continues to lead the live music gigs.
We're back with a bang from Feb 14th, hope to see you all again, back at The Rinc enjoying yourselves.

Live Flamenco at the bar

We're delighted to announce the return of 'Flamenco Sundays' to the Tapas Tardis. The 'grupo de casa' will feature some of our much-loved regular musicians.
Expect music of craft and passion, in the most perfect setting outside Spain itself.

Thursday ‘Tiny Gig’s
From Folk to Jazz, Flamenco to Classical and much more besides our tiny gigs are a diverse set of shows, however what unites them is the talent and warmth of the performers. A rare chance to see some outstanding acts up close and personal.
All tickets at £10 plus booking fee with all sales online
Fridays
No tickets required, no reservations needed, just walk in take a drink and order some tapas or a slice of Tarta de Santiago

Live music from 2-4 pm, tickets online. Doors open from 12pm

Spanish Amigos - Tuesday Nights returning February 21st
Evenings for like minded people to come in for a Hola in the bar, ideal if you love Spain, the language, it's wine, cerveeza, the weather and meeting new amigos
Tapas served and Estrella poured, it's free entry too.
We'll be hosting pop up flamenco events, sherry and wine tastings, information about our Spanish classes / workshops and encouraging the game of Perudo.

Under the Red Guitar - poetry evenings return on the 15th March
Join us in the warmth of El Rincon for a monthly poetry evening. There will be a featured poet each month and open mic slots, with MCs Lizzie Rascal and Bobi Notlaw, otherwise known as The Spoke poets Elizabeth Parker and Robert Walton.
Tickets must be bought in advance and doors open 6.30pm.

DEBORAH HARVEY
Deborah Harvey lives in Bristol and is co-director of The Leaping Word, which
provides writing, editing and counselling support for writers exploring personal
material in their work. Her poems have been widely published in journals and
anthologies, broadcast on Radio 4’s Poetry Please, and awarded several major
prizes. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Manchester Writing School, and her
fifth poetry collection, ‘Learning Finity’, was published by Indigo Dreams in 2022.
Deborah’s four earlier poetry collections, ‘The Shadow Factory’, ‘Breadcrumbs’, ‘Map
Reading for Beginners’ and ‘Communion’, were also published by Indigo Dreams,
while her historical novel, ‘Dart’, appeared under their Tamar Books imprint. Her
books are available to buy from Indigo Dreams Publishing or directly from her for £10
(free p&p) via admin@theleapingword.com. Deborah is co-host of Silver Street Poets

Live music will be back every Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm, tickets will be available online and at the door too.
Our first Comedy noche on the last Sunday of the month will begin on March 26th at 7pm, more details about all our gigs will be available pronto/

Learn Spanish at El Rincon
We've been teaching Spanish since 2007, we offer classes at the moment to adult beginners and beginner improvers.
Our classes are a mixture of face to face and online classes, they take place at the bar with me.
New small Spanish beginner class starts Weds 6pm - 7pm from 1st March running for 6 weeks.
For all other class levels I'd prefer to male assessments during a Spanish Amigo evening for early Autumn start dates.
